Phillip J. Shilling, 67 of Duncan Falls passed away on December 2, 2017 following a brief illness at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville surrounded by his loving family.
Phil was born in Zanesville on November 21, 1950. He is the son of the late James M. and Beth (Shriver) Shilling. He worked for over 30 years as a machinist for Armco Steel / AK Steel in Zanesville. He proudly served his country in the US Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict where he received the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Shilling whom he married June 17, 2012; his children Jodie (Philip) Campbell of Zanesville and Jason (Bobbi) Shilling of Roseville; his step-children David (Cristina) Wilson of Topeka, KS, Chris (Heather) Wilson of Belpre, OH and Andrea (Chad) Lent of Philo; two sisters Katha Mercer of Zanesville and Mara (Bruce) Morrison of Philo; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday. He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam Post #1058, the American Legion Post #29 and the US Army Color Guard.
