John Wayne Morrow

        John Wayne Morrow passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19th at his beloved Muskingum County Fairgrounds; he was 62 years old.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 13th, 1953 to Ellis and Mary Ann Morrow.

        John dedicated his life to his high school sweetheart Mary and their family.   His most precious time was spent with his children and grandchildren, their presence filled him with joy and it was his pleasure to guide them as they grew into adults.  John was the heart of New Concord, and the betterment of the village of New Concord was very important to him. He took great care and was filled with pride in working with the community.  He recently celebrated the anniversary of 30 years employment with the Village of New Concord.  John enjoyed a variety of activities including working on his farm, watching John Glenn Sports, being a part of 4H, the New Concord Volunteer Fire Dept., and the boar goat industries.  John was a longtime member of the Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder.

       He is predeceased by his father, Ellis, and his brother, William.  John is survived by his mother, Mary Ann, his loving wife of 42 years, Mary, his daughters, Julie Morrow (Steve Shriner), Laura (Jamie) Applegarth, Jennifer (Joe) Clifford, and his son, Jeremy (Robyn) Morrow.  He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Jenna Jordan, Jaylee Jordan, Megan and Max Morrow, Alex and Austin Applegarth, Ava, Katie, and Josie Clifford.  He will be remembered by his mother-in-law, Virginia Smith, his brother, Roger (Linda) Morrow, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers.

Calling hours for John will be held at the College Drive Presbyterian church of New Concord, 2 W High St, on Sunday August23rd from 2 to 8PM, and on Monday at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, Cambridge Road (State Route 209), New Concord, OH from 10 to 11AM.  Services will be held at 11AM, and Burial will take place at the Bloomfield Cemetery.  Pastor Tim Pollock will officiate.  Farus Funeral Home is handling services.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the following organizations:  Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church, 1800 Bloomfield Road, New Concord, Ohio,  the Muskingum County 4-H Fund, 225 Underwood St., Zanesville, OH 43701, or the Muskingum County Community Foundation, 534 Putnam Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701.
