Ronald D. Gottke Obituary

Ronald D. Gottke I, 66 of Philo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2021 at Genesis Hospital.

 

Ron was born in Zanesville on June 17, 1954.  He is the son of the late Lloyd Dean Gottke and Joann (Frecker) Murphy.  He retired after working many years for the Flying J in Kirkersville. He retired from the Harrison Township Fire Department after serving over 20 years.  He was a member of the Philo VFW Post 10275 and the Muskingum County Veterans Council and Ron served his country in The US Navy.

 

Ron is survived by his wife, Caroline (Coleman) Gottke whom he married June 1, 1973; his four children, Sherry (Larry) Hatcher, R.D. Gottke, Carrie (Louie) Wisecarver and Terry (Brittany) Gottke; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and his sister, Sharon Gillogly and Wendy Blake.

 

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sister Lenora Wallace.

 

Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Full Military honors by George Selsam VFW Post #1058, American Legion Post #29 and the US Navy Color Guard.  He will be laid to rest in Blue Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
