Robert Dale (Bob) Clevenger, 89, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at his home in New Concord, Ohio. He was born June 4, 1931, to Carl and Lelah (Kreg) Clevenger in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Central High School and Indiana Technical College in Fort Wayne. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Okinawa.
Bob married Norma Ruth Logan on November 26, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family also lived in Tampa, Florida and Mansfield, Ohio, before moving to New Concord in 1963. Bob and Norma designed and built the the home in which Bob resided until his death. The couple had four children: Pamela, Douglas, Brenda, and Darrell.
Bob was a long-time member of New Concord United Methodist Church, as well as the New Concord Lions Club. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by Columbia Gas of Ohio, rising to the position of Plant Manager in Cambridge, Ohio, until his retirement in 1989. He coached Little League baseball and served on the troop committee for New Concord Boy Scout Troop 510.
Bob is survived by his daughter Pam (Warren) Riggle of Asheville, North Carolina, son Doug (Carol) Clevenger of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and daughter Brenda (Ron) Murray of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Larry, Bill, and Jim), son Darrell (2017) and wife Norma (2018).
Due to renewed COVID risks, there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions are directed to the Lions Club. A private family funeral will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at New Concord United Methodist Church.
