Richard Dovenbarger Obituary

Richard G. Dovenbarger, 77 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospital on November 1, 2021.

 

Richard was born in Zanesville on June 12, 1944.  He is the son of the late Clayton H. and Virginia (Watson) Dovenbarger.  He retired after 40+ years working for Culligan Water of Zanesville, and then he worked as a maintenance man for Walmart North.

 

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Lisa (Jack) Strong and Lora (Robin) Thomas; his grandchildren, Candi (Jordan) Hurley, Kayla (Joey) Havens, Christy (Brad) Loveall, Cody (Jaime) Friend, Matthew Friend, Tiffany Thomas, Justin Thomas, and Adrian Thomas; his great grandchildren, Katelyn, Felicity, Emily, Truett, Cali, Jentzen, Michael, Kymani, Isabella, Karter, Kolson, and Hudson; two sisters, Beverly (John) Dillon and Barbara Morgan; and his step-children, Kevin French, Barbara Core and David French; and step-grandson, Adam Core.

 

In addition to his parents, his first wife, Linda Bell who passed away November 19, 2014; his second wife Betty Dovenbarger, who passed away June 11, 2019; his granddaughter, Rachel Strong; his brothers, James and Ronald Dovenbarger.

 

Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm, on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Graveside services will be held 11 am on Friday at the Duncan Falls Cemetery, with Pastors Mike and Melody Foster officiating.  He will be laid to rest with full military Honors provided by George Selsam Post # 1058, VFW Post #29 and the US Army Color Guard and Taps played by Natalie Collins.
