Raymond “Rocky” Carr, 62 of Malta, formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022, while at his home with loving family by his side.
Rocky was born in Cambridge, Ohio on October 4, 1959. He is the son of the late Otis and Olive Carr. Rocky retired from Igel Construction as an operating engineer after many years of faithful service as a pan operator. Rocky was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #1604, as well as a member of Ohio Operating Engineer’s Local #18. Rocky enjoyed spending his time riding his Harley Rocker, Ol’ Blue, but his favorite way to spend his time was with his grandchildren.
Rocky is survived by his daughter, Shawna (Cody) Knox; his grandchildren, Cameron and Dash Zimmerman, Lincoln Knox, Scarlett Carr, and Eric Carr II; his sister, Susie (Dickie) Bates; His niece and nephew, Troy Bates and Michelle Fadorsen; his lifelong friend, Sherry Hennen; and his friends at Malta VFW Post #4713.
In addition to his parents, Rocky is preceded in death by his two infant siblings.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make memorial contributions in Rocky’s name to the charity of your choice.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 11am to 1pm at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland, 343 W. Main Street, Cumberland, OH, 43732, where funeral services will be held immediately following visitations at 1pm. Pastor Kirk Gable will officiate the service. Rocky will be laid to rest next to his parents in Cumberland Cemetery.
After the graveside service, friends are encouraged to gather at Cumberland Cemetery and join Rocky’s family on a memorial motorcycle ride in his honor.
