Ralph C. McCready, “Himself”, 76 of Chandlersville, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife of 50 years by his side and under the care of Shriver’s Hospice.
Ralph was born on October 20, 1945 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He is the son of the late Clarence Clay and Pearl Margaret (Scott) Hess McCready. Ralph worked as an optician for The Eyesight, as well as Wilson Optical in Cambridge, where he retired in 2008 after 22 faithful years of service. Ralph was a tinkerer. He loved woodworking, he participated in Civil War Reenactments for over 30 years, and he was proud of his ornery Irish heritage. He was a member of High Hill Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and he was the immediate past president of the Southeastern Ohio Round Table.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Janet (Dickson) McCready, whom he married April 24, 1971; his three children, Christine (David) Cornelius, Mollie (Michael) Holleran, and Sean (Devan) McCready; his five grandchildren, Grace, Madison, Alexander, Cooper and Kaiden; his twin-brother, Joe (Rose Marie) McCready; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his three half-brothers, and his three half-sisters.

Visitations will be 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 1 pm on Monday. Tim Berger will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in Mount Zion Cemetery, Chandlersville.
An Irish Wake will be held at a later date.
