Nick L. McKinney

1959 ~ 2021 (age 62)


Nick L. McKinney, 62 of Baltimore, formerly of Cumberland, passed way peacefully on December 30, 2021.


Nick was born on April 15, 1959 in Alma, Michigan. He is the son of Nancy and the late James McKinney, and also the son in law of Robert West and the late Betty West. Nick was a 1977 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, and Nashville Auto-Diesel College. 


The McKinney family moved to Ohio in 1969. Nick’s first job was delivering The Daily Jeff from 1969 to 1973. He was employed by Gress Carpet Sales in Cumberland, and Cowgill Chevrolet of Caldwell. Nick was the owner of a very successful business, Cumberland Collision from 1996 to 2008, where he was widely known for his expertise in auto-body work. 


Nick is survived by his wife, Beth (West) McKinney, who he married on January 27, 1979; his son, Eric (Erin). The delight of Nick’s life was being “Pap” to the “Wild Ones”, Rylee David and Parker Nicholas, his grandsons. He is also survived by two brothers, Mark (Nada) McKinney, and Brent (Kathy) McKinney; two sisters, Lisa and Lita; his brothers-in-law, Bryan “Sipe” (Kate) , Brad “Doodie” (Michele); his sisters-in-law, Bev (Steve) Pottmeyer, and Brenda Neuhart; and many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and his church family at the Grove Community Church, where he enjoyed serving as a Deacon. 


The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, 444 W. Main Street, Cumberland, OH, 43732, or the Grove Community Church, 3420 Blacklick-Eastern Road NW, Baltimore, OH, 43105. 


A private family service will be held, and Nick will be laid to rest in Cumberland Cemetery. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the McKinney Family.
