Mary Elizabeth Starcher, 70 of Cannelville, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022, while at her home and with her loved ones surrounding her.
Mary was born in Zanesville on November 4, 1951. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Erma (Cullison) Rupe. Mary loved her time working as a potter at Burley Clay. Mary enjoyed bowling, but her favorite way to spend her time was spending it with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her friends. Mary was a friend to everyone and would give you the shirt off of her back.
Mary is survived by her children, Clarence (Andy) Starcher of the home, Peggy (Terry) Pletcher of Philo, Sherry (Everett) Bowers of Philo, and Matthew Evans of Cannelville; her grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, Kayla (Cord) Dunn, Hope (Jon) McElfresh, Cheyenne (Russell) Hall, Junior Bowers, Austin (Rylee) Evans, Lizzy Evans, Karter Bowers, and Ashley and Lindsay Pletcher; her great-grandchildren that she adored, Clayton and Chase Colborn, Kayden, Felicity, and Kasen McElfresh, Kaiser and Xavier Hall, Wahlon Evans, Shay Dunn, Olivia and Macie Harris, and Jayden and Maleah Robinson; her siblings, Leroy Cullison of Athens, Louis (Charlene) Rupe of Roseville, Melvin Rupe of Cannelville, and Dorothy Bargar of Cannelville; her special friends, Geney Lewis, Jeff and Mandy Evans, Wanda Pletcher, Jeremy and Justin Colborn, the Graybill Brothers and her work family from Burley Clay; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, who she married on August 7, 1967, Melvin Starcher, who passed away on July 1, 2013; her brother, John Rupe; and her sister, Joyce Rupe.
Visitations will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11. Pastor Steve Harrop will officiate the service. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Stovertown Cemetery.
