Margaret McConnell, 96 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2021 while under the care of Willow Haven Nursing Home.
Margaret was born on June 29, 1924 in Yorkshire, England. She is the daughter of the late Herbert and Ann (Turner) Nedwell. While in England during World War II she served in the British Land Army. She also worked for the Cadbury Candy Company in Birmingham, England. After the war she moved to the U.S. and she worked for Bloomers’ Candy Company in Zanesville. She loved traveling to the ocean, spending time in the garden, and going to yard sales. She was known to have the most beautiful flowers that were well taken care of, but most especially she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Margaret is survived by her children, Linda Monroe of Chicago, IL, Leland (Cindy) Harris of Bidwell, Ohio, and Jennifer Salsbury of Zanesville; her grandchildren, Heather (Trevor) Lang, Jason (Karla) Monroe, Brad Harris, Derek (LeAnna) Harris, Tiffany (Drew) Miller, Courteney (Aaron) Bechtel, Kinsey Salsbury Megan (Joey) Salsbury, and Michelle Crisenbery; numerous great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Peeka-boo.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Keith McConnell who passed away in 1989; her great grandson, Gabriel Miller; her siblings, Dorothy, John, Ann and Derek.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734, where funeral services will be held at 4 pm. Pastor Steve Harrop will officiate the services. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
