Linda W. Beougher Obituary

Linda W. Beougher, 84, formerly of Duncan Falls, passed away on November 6, 2023.  Linda was born January 12, 1939, in Circleville, Ohio, to the late Dr. Wells & Janet Wilson. She married Larry J. Beougher on March 19, 1960, the day the swallows return each year to the Mission of San Juan Capistrano.

Linda was a graduate of Pickaway Township School and Ohio State University, holding teaching assignments at Circleville Junior High School, Twin Valley North High School, MAJVS and MATC, retiring after a total of 36 years of teaching from Philo High School, where she loved teaching journalism and being the advisor for Philo’s Current yearbook for 16 years.

As a minister’s wife, Linda enjoyed the supplemental positions of church choir director, pianist, VBS director, chair of multiple committees and editor of Larry’s sermons.  Linda gave her time generously, always with the goal of leading others to Christ and supporting her husband.

Linda was a talented seamstress. She taught Carol how to sew, crochet and craft. Linda used her sewing talents to stretch the family budget by making shirts for the boys and dresses for Carol to wear to school. Of course, by the end of the school year, Lane & Dennis’ shirts had been converted from long to short-sleeved and Carol needed a ruffle added to the bottom of her dresses! Linda also was a talented quilter and made beautiful quilts for each of her children as well as lovely wall hangings. We treasure these homemade items as a tribute to a time when her hands and fingers were nimble and creative. Linda enjoyed her time in the Duncan Falls Homemakers Group. Many of these wonderful ladies became her friends and support system.

Linda is survived by her children, Lane (Stephanie) Beougher, of Pickerington; Dennis (Elma) Beougher, of Alexandria, VA and Carol (Bill) Murphy, of Zanesville; grandchildren, Nate Beougher, Logan (Taylor) Beougher, Bradley Beougher, Alisa (Eric) Woodard & Adam (Taylor) Kohler; great grandchildren, Luke Woodard and Cooper & Beau Kohler.  Linda is also survived by five siblings, Nathan (Ruth) Wilson of Circleville; Bruce (Peggy) Wilson of Marysville;  Lois (Joe) Rogers of Ft. Thomas, KY; Katie (Brad) Schneider of Circleville; and Scott (Elaine) Wilson of Monroe.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her first granddaughter, Kelsey G. Beougher.

The family would like to thank the many patient care technicians, support staff, nurses, and administrators at Primrose Retirement Community and Hospice of Central Ohio for their kind and compassionate care.
