Larry C. Clarke Jr. passed away on February 22, 2021 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born in Zanesville on October 25, 1947 to the late Larry C. Clarke Sr. and Martha (Atkins) Porter. He joined the Army in 1966 and served his country in Vietnam with the 101st airborne division and was a ham teletype operator. After the Army he joined the reserves, and in January 1976 he joined the Navy. He served his country for 18 years, retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief.
Larry will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Darlene (Smith) Clarke; his sons, Larry, Michael (Julie) and Vance Clarke; his grandchildren Michael James Jr. (Peyton), Stephen, Larry (Nicole), Isabella (Mason), Larry E. (Shannon); and his grandchildren, Michael O’Keefe, Emily, Nikki, Coda, Orosz, Peyton, Alyssa, King, Kaliah, Andra, and Bastion; special grandkids, Chris Clarke, Jacob, Sierra, and Sarah Ward; a very special nephew, Will Smith; sisters, Emagene Fouty, Diana (Ed) Roberts, Christine (Dave) Porter; his brother, Randy (Martha) Clarke; his sister-in-law Grace Smith; and his brother-in-law Grant Smith.
Larry is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Larry and Loretta Clarke; his mother and step-father, James and Martha Porter; his brothers, Raymond and George Clarke; his sisters, Sylvia Scott, Melinda Costlow; his grandchildren Faith and Josiah; and his brother-in-law Robert Fouty; and family members Larry and Glenna Smith, Eddie Smith, and Karen Mills.
In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of his wonderful life will be planned for the summer. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Clarke Family.
