Juanita Marie (Uplinger, McConkey) Bobo, 87 of Cambridge, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2021 while under the care of the Beckett House in New Concord.
Juanita was born in Canton, Ohio on April 19, 1934. She is the daughter of the late Vernon and Mary (Bishop) Uplinger.
Juanita was an active member of the Salvation Army of Cambridge. She worked as a personal home health provider and as a cook at Feed My People. Though she was set in her ways, she never knew a stranger, and was always helping out and keeping things going.
Juanita is survived by her step-son, Harold Dale McConkey, her son, Michael McConkey, her daughter, Martha McConkey; her grandchildren, Steven McConkey, Richard McConkey, Angie Stephens, Shawn McConkey, Sheila Porhen, Sonya McConkey, Shella McGahee, Robert M. (Clarica) Gattrell, James (Dana) Gattrell, and Misty (Jimmy) Savage; her great grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, A.J., Addison, Ayla, Arissa, Andon, Emily, Devon, Hunter, Hayden, Braidin, Lillian, Abbigale, Dominik, Issabella and Christlyn; her many great-great grandchildren, her three brothers, Charles “Sonny”, Jim, and Acie and her sister, Ellen; and her extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Harold McConkey; her second mother, Jeannetta Uplinger; her daughter, Jacqueline McConkey, her son, Philip McConkey, her step-son Russell McConkey; her granddaughter Dawn; her sister, Marcella “Sue” Cummings, Lavina Miller, Flora Jane Yost, and her brothers, Bill, Dave, Jack, Garry, Melvin, Dick, Dan Uplinger.
The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Bobo family and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
