John Higbee

John Daniel Higbee, 65, of New Concord, passed away in his home on April 1st, 2020.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on October 13, 1954 to James Daniel and Rhea Maxine (Gates) Higbee.  John was a hard worker, who loved his farm and hunting.  He worked for Knowlton Steel as a welder until he retired at the age of 62.  He was a loving father and caring friend who would give you anything that you needed and had a heart of gold.

John is survived by his daughter, Shaina (Shaun) Hupp, and his son, John R. (Amber) Higbee, and his step-children, Nina Marie Smith and Virginia Ware-Havens.  He also learns to cherish his memory numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.  He will be deeply missed by Josh Taylor, who he considered to be his son.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susie Able.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for John on Monday, April 6th from 4 to 6PM at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord.  In keeping with concern for the family’s safety and public safety the funeral home will be open to 10 individuals at a time. Friends are invited to stop in express their sympathies and then allow other mourners to have an opportunity to do the same.  We thank you for your understanding.
