Jeanette F. Hollenbeck

Jeanette F. Hollenbeck, 96, formerly of Cumberland, Ohio, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Nov. 30, 2012 at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home. She was born on May 3, 1916, in Rushville, N.Y., daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Kohler) Broughton. She worked at Corning Glass Works in Corning, N.Y. and later owned Jeanette's Dry Goods in Cumberland, for 20 years. She was a member of Cumberland United Methodist Church and she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, reading, traveling and was also an avid bird watcher. Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Marlene) Hollenbeck of Byesville, Ohio, and Jim Hollenbeck of Senecaville, Ohio; three daughters, Pat Nicholson of Zanesville, Ohio, Dorothy "Dot" Heaton and Karen "Kate" (Butch) Todd, all of Rushville; son-in-law, William Nicholson of Buffalo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Paula) Broughton of Alpine, Wyo., and Donald Broughton and friend Sharon of Sayre, N.Y.; a sister, Marjorie Close of Morris, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband Ernest R. Hollenbeck; two granddaughters, Tonya Hollenbeck and Shannon Heaton; and four brothers, Charles, James, Fredrick and Vernon Broughton. Visistation will be 2 to 4 pm Saturday, December 8th 2012 at the Farus Funeral Home in Cumberland. A caring cremation has taken place. www.farusfh.com
