Janie Mae Lewis, 55 of Zanesville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.
Janie was born in Zanesville on August 25, 1965. She is the daughter of the late Edward and Rosa (Payne) Lewis. She worked for over 25 years as a Teacher’s Aide for Zanesville City Schools.
Janie is survived by her two daughters, Breana (Kevin) Massie-Mackey of Fredericksburg, Montana (J.J.) Prouty-Green of Zanesville; her grandchildren, Westen Massie, Braelen Massie, Beau Green, Luke Green, Raven Green; the father of her two daughters, Craig Prouty of Zanesville; her siblings, John Lewis, Geney Lewis, George Lewis, Annie (David) Williamson all of Roseville, Marilyn Denny and Bertha McCormick both of Crooksville, and Todd Lewis and Daylan Harris of Philo.
In addition to her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her brother, Roy Lee Lewis.
Visitations will be 3 to 8 on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home where funeral services will take place at 11 am on Friday. Pastor Doug Winner will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
