Jane Fletcher, 88 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her Zanesville home on March 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Genesis Hospice.
Jane was born January 20, 1933 in Penn Yan, NY. She is the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel (Lester) Hackett.
Jane lived a few years in Pennsylvania, and then moved her family to California, where she spent a majority of her life. She loved her grandchildren and getting to know her siblings better. She loved reading, crocheting, playing games and watching Jeopardy. Jane never met a stranger, everyone loved talking to her.
After 20 years, she retired from Los Angeles Unified School District. In 2017, she moved to Ohio to live with her daughter. She spent her last years caring for her “new pets” in Ohio. They loved their Grandma Jane and she loved spoiling her dogs.
Jane is survived by her children, Thomas Russell Fletcher, Robert Wayne Fletcher, Cynthia Lee Fletcher, Rose Marie Fletcher, Cheryl Lynn (Chris) Walsberg, Darla Jean (Kelly Sims) Tovar; her grandchildren, Toni Miller, Christopher Miller, Felicia (J.T.) Taylor, Joyclin Tovar, Vanessa (Chris Haddrill) Tovar, Timothy Sanders, Ricky Sanders, Jennifer Godinez, Mark Thurston, Brittany (Elijah) Madtson, Amanda Tovar, Kristoffer Tovar; her great-grandchildren, Ian Dodds, Marley Taylor, Capri Madtson.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Ethel Fletcher; her siblings, Richard, Gordon, Laverne, Dorothy, David, William, Raymond, and Rose.
In keeping with Jane’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Fletcher family.
