James W. Fite

James W. “Jim” Fite, 68 of New Concord, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2021 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge.

Jim was born in Cambridge on November 13, 1953.  He is the son of the late George Jefferson Fite and Dorothy L. (Pettit) Shick.  He retired in 2001 as a nurse for New Concord Nursing Center.  He graduated in 1972 from Cambridge High School and he was very proud to be a Bobcat.  He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan and he was a member of the Good Shepherd Four Square Gospel Church in Cambridge.  He loved to dance and laugh and make everyone around him happy.

Jim is survived by his wife, Wilma (McQuain) Fite, whom he married May 26, 2002; his children, Kendra Fite, Rachel (Chuck) Ponte, Michelle (Jason) Sauls, Mike (Sara) McQuain, Melissa Huntsman, Brandy (Dave) Whittle, Brittney (Seth) Henderson, Kristopher (Cami) Kelso; his many grandchildren, and great grandchildren; his siblings, Debbie (Rob) Wyers, Jennifer Shuman, and Judi Bigley.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Price and Sandra Rockwell; his brother, George Fite; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ponte.

Due to asthma in the family, the family request that no flowers be sent to the funeral home, please make memorial contributions in Jim’s name to the Fite Fund to help with expenses c/o CNB, PO Box 423, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734.

Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home, 63 West Main Street, NEW CONCORD.  Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Ken Blood officiating.
