Herman D. Keel

Herman D. Keel, 90 of Chandlersville, passed away on November 3, 2023, at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by his loving family.

Herman was born on November 20, 1932 in Alabama. He is the son of the late Dave and Birdie Keel. Herman served his country in the United States Army as an Engineer. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum for multiple years and he was a life-long farmer. Herman enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family.

Herman is survived by his step-daughter, Dorothy (George) Dailey; a handful of step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Herman is preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Van Fossen; his siblings, Robert “Bud” Smith, John Edd Keel, and Thurman Keel, Estelle Rogers, Zelma Doran, and Bertha Bearden.

Visitations for Herman will be held from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be at 11 am on the same day at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Harrop will officiate the service. Herman will be laid to rest at the Norwich Presbyterian Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW.
