Gregory Paul Carpenter, 65 of Cambridge, went to be with his savior, surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2021 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Greg was born in Zanesville on December 3, 1955. He is the son of the late Delbert E. and Marjorie (Friel) Carpenter. He worked as a laborer for United Technologies, Longaberger, New Avon Distribution, and he worked as a valet for Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, West Virginia. He enjoyed being around people and staying busy and he never met a stranger but most especially he was a loving grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Diana L. (Roberson) Carpenter, whom he married February 2, 1990; his children, Onnah Carpenter of Greenville, Amy Carpenter of Salesville; his step son Matthew (Patti) Maurer, of Beaver, Pennsylvania, Josh Maurer of Marysville; his grandchildren, Kaela Maurer, Kendall Maurer, Andrew Thornsberry, Piper Wildes; his brother, Jeffery (Gail) Carpenter and two nieces and one nephew.
Visitations will be from 12 to 2 pm on Thursday, March 25, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, with funeral services following immediately at 2 pm. Pastor Brian Leversee will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Crooksville.
