Gary Myers Obituary

Gary Lee Myers, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2021.

 

Gary was born May 23, 1936 in Homeworth, Ohio.  He is the son of the late Duane and Florence (Lee) Myers.

 

Gary was a member of Zanesville Northside Church of the Nazarene where he served faithfully in many different capacities.  He was a God fearing man and loved to spread the Word!

 

Gary worked for Western Southern Life Insurance where he retired from in 1993.  Gary was an avid Tri-Valley softball fan and you could always find him at every home and away game. He was an outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, canoeing, hiking, he took great pride in every challenge he laid ahead of himself. He Loved handing down his hunting traditions onto his kids and grandkids. One of his greatest achievements was that he walked the Appalachian Trail. 

He loved sharing his Childhood stories with anyone that would listen.

 

Along with his wife, Cheryl (Miller) Myers of 28+ years; he is survived by his five daughters, Michelle (Max) Howard,

Marsha (Bill) Smith, Angelee (Stephen) Kubes Alisha Myers, Jackie Myers; his two sons Craig (Linda) Myers, Shawn (Heather) Myers; his grandchildren, Sheila, Mandi, Josh, Kariston, Shontai, Malorie, Logan, Tessa, Tyler, Alexa, Dalton, Kolin, Audrey, Branden, Christian, Alyssa, Aliyah and Camrian; 21 great grandchildren; his brother, Chris (Sharon) Myers; numerous nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend Norman Skinner.

 

 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 36 yrs. Anna (Hague) Myers, which they touched the lives of over 50 foster children. And always shared the joy of Jesus! One son, Douglas Myers, brother, Roger Myers, sister Janet Myers.

 

Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Zanesville Northside Church of the Nazarene, 739 Francis Street, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Dr. James Miller officiating.  He will be laid to rest beside his first wife in the Dresden Cemetery.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Myers family.
