Donna L. Adams Obituary

Donna Lee Adams, 89 of New Concord, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2021 at the Beckett House in New Concord where she had resided for four years.

Donna was born in El Dorado, KS on June 5, 1931, the daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline (Miller) Blehm. She moved with her family from her beloved Kansas to New Concord in 1969.

Donna never knew a stranger and was known for her infectious laugh. She loved to travel, watch sporting events, shopping excursions, getting her hair and nails done, visiting with friends, and playing games with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a proud Ellinwood Eagle and always spoke fondly of her days growing up in Kansas with her dear siblings. A member of College Drive Presbyterian Church, Donna loved the Lord and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Guernsey County Eastern Star. After many years in the banking industry, Donna took great pride in serving as Executive Director of the Guernsey County Cancer Society until her retirement.

Donna is survived by her two sons, Michael Adams and David (Lori) Adams; son-in-law Randy McFerren, grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Elizabeth Adams, Ray (Nicole) McFerren, and Avery Adams; her great-grandchildren Nash and Case McFerren and Verona Spicer; her siblings Jack (Susan) Blehm and Beverly (Bob) Zimmerman.

In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. “Pete” Adams, her son, Daniel Adams, her daughter, Cindy McFerren, and grandson Shawn McFerren.

A private graveside service will be held with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Guernsey County Cancer Society, 925 Wheeling Ave #205, Cambridge, OH 43725.
