Dennis W. Somers

Dennis W. Somers, 64, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Dennis was born in Zanesville on July 26, 1958. He is the son of Lois E. Moore and Joseph W. Somers Jr.  He worked as a lifelong trucker.  He worked for Polks Salvage, Bulk Transit, Ohio Oil Gathering, and then for Muskingum Iron and Metal.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing his guitar, racing, and riding his Harley, but most especially he loved spending time with his granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is survived by his son, Chad Somers; his two daughters, Amber Somers and Kristine (Nick McMillan) Somers; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mckenna, Dakota, Montana, Hailey, and Cody; his siblings, Debra (Randy) Reasoner, Joyce (William) Perry, Joseph (Kristi) Somers, and Amy (Daniel) Parson; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis is preceded in death by his step-mother, Kathryn Somers; his step-father, Jack Moore; and his brother, David Somers.

A celebration of life will be held from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the The Banquet Room (The old Nicol’s Restaurant), 730 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
