Deborah R. Gaton

Deborah R. Gaton, 73 of Pleasant City, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022, with her loving daughters by her side.

Debbie was born in Zanesville on March 8, 1949. She is the daughter of the late Albert and Adrian (Church) Bates. Debbie worked as an administrative secretary for Secrest Elementary for many years. She loved to spend time cheering on her Pittsburg Steelers and listening to Elvis Presley, but her favorite way to spend time was to be with her grandchildren. 

Debbie is survived by her daughters, Darcy (Todd) Offinger, and Lynn Gaton; her grandkids, Hannah Offinger, and Alex (Jade) Gaton; her great-grandsons, Owen Offinger, and Ayden Gaton; her siblings, Carol Huhn, and Judy Roach; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gaton, who passed away November 2, 1993; and her grandson, Joey Offinger, who passed away on July 12, 2018.

Visitations will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland, 343 W. Main Street, Cumberland.
