David Lee Greenhill, 79 of Philo, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 19, 2021.
Dave was born in Carter County, KY on August 27, 1941. He is the son of the late James Frank and Georgie (Rucker) Greenhill. He retired after many years working for the Buckeye Steel Castings Company. He was a member of Groveport Lodge #240 F&AM and also the Aladdin Shrine in Columbus. He enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing and truly enjoyed playing cards with his buddies at Babberts. He served his country in the US Army.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sue “Wrinkles” Greenhill, whom he married August 3, 1968; his two children, Kristina Butler and James J. Greenhill; his grandchildren, Cory (Danielle) Kline, Jackson Patrick Brooks, Jaylyn Nicole Greenhill, Lane Greenhill; his great grandson, Connor Kline; his brother, his sisters, Carolyn Sue Wells and Barbara (Kit) Mead; his sisters-in-law, Trudy Starcher and Nina Greenhill; a special niece, Angie Greenhill; a special ‘son’ Brian (Judy) Chubba.
In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his three brothers, William Franklin, James Larry and Ronnie Greenhill.
Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Emma United Methodist Church, McLane Pike Rt. 34, Liberty, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held at the church at 1 pm. Pastor Kit Meade will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in the Emma United Methodist Church Cemetery with full military honors.
