David A. DuVall, 81 of Blue Rock, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.
Dave was born on April 6, 1940 in Shawnee, Ohio. He is the son of the late Ralph and Imogene (Barnes) DuVall. Dave was a 1958 graduate of Philo High School. Dave worked for many years at Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Newark, and then worked as a substitute janitor at Franklin Local Schools. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He was a member of Gaysport Methodist Church.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Sue (Daw) DuVall, who he married on September 14, 1963; his children, Brent (Jennifer Layton-Robinson) DuVall of Newark, and Lisa (Jeff) Emery of Newark; his three grandchildren Monica (Kenny) Gray, Ashley Willey, David (Sara) Willey and three great-granddaughters Kaelyn, Logan, Emersyn: and his sisters, Donna (Ronnie) Newberry of McConnelsville, and Elaine Bright of Zanesville.
In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his brother, Ralph “Ned” DuVall.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Gaysport Hill Cemetery. Pastor Bill Abrahms will officiate the service.
