Dale Lee “Zeke” Haught, 77, of New Concord, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was born on December 27, 1942 in Jacobsburg. He was the son of the late Charley and Mary (Coleman) Haught. He was a 1960 graduate of Buffalo High School and served in the National Guard after graduating. He retired from Champion Spark Plug after 30 years and served as chairman of the UAW. He also worked for Fed Ex Custom Critical for 31 years. Most recently, he drove cars for Hollingshead Motors. He was a Meadowbrook Colts and Buckeye Trail Warriors Fan and could usually be found in the stands at football and basketball games. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also a Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sherry (Stewart) Haught, whom he married May 10, 1985, one son, Ricky (Kathy) Haught of Byesville, two daughters, Annette (Kennan) Ward of West Jefferson, and Brenda (Lloyd) McGilton of Cambridge, two stepsons, Mike Waller and Kevin Waller both of Senecaville, one brother, Donald “Jake” Haught of Pleasant City, one sister, Doris (John) Williams of Senecaville, four sisters-in-law, Sonia Haught of Senecaville, Faye (Alan) Hughes of Florida, Patti (Charlie) Pavlik of Cambridge, and Nancy Harding of Byesville, two brothers-in-law, Jim (Linda) Stewart of Florida and Ron (Cathy) Stewart of Ava, seven grandchildren, Dustin Nesdore, Ben (Affy) Nesdore, Justin (Kaci) Haught, Josh (Morgan) Haught, Brittney (Dustin) Starr, and Courtney and Trey McGilton, four step-grandchildren, Ashleigh (Justin) Wolstenholme, Brandon Waller, Kobe (Erica) Waller, and Kaden Waller, 7 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his furry friend, Rosco, who he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Haught and James Haught, two sisters, Mary Haught and Helen Warehime, and three sisters-in-law, Carol Haught, Rae Haught, and Susie Hall, a brother-in-law, Steve Stewart, and his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, James and Audrey Stewart.
