Obituary

D. Tim Tavenner, 61, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on December 30, 2021, at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove City, Ohio.

 

Tim was born in Zanesville, Ohio on September 09, 1960.  He was the son of Vivian Tavenner McDermott and the late Donald G. Tavenner.  Tim loved spending time with his wife, children, granddaughter, and grandpups as well as watching John Wayne movies and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Tim loved the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Scout Master for several years.  He grew up in New Concord, Ohio; was a graduate of John Glenn High School, The Hobart School of Welding, and ITT Technical Institute and worked as an HVAC technician for 25 years in Columbus, Ohio.  He later became a Class A CDL truck driver before retiring in 2020.  Tim was a member of the Grove City United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men’s Group.

 

Tim is survived by his wife, Deanna Tavenner (nee Groman) of Grove City, Ohio; his mother, Vivian Tavenner McDermott of Orient, Ohio; his children, Kevin (Riley) Tavenner of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Dustin (Sydni) Tavenner of Canal Winchester, Ohio; his sister, Tammy (Jim) Slagle of Fairview Park, Ohio, and his brother Andy (Vonda) Tavenner of Deltona, Florida; and his granddaughter, Elle Tavenner.

 

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Donald G. Tavenner.

 

In keeping with his wishes, a caring cremation has taken place and a celebration of his wonderful life will take place on February 12, 2022, in New Concord, Ohio.  Time to be announced.

 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Tim’s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.
