Curtis Patrick Shepherd, 47, of Columbus, OH passed away suddenly in his home on Friday, May 29, 2020. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio. His parents are mom, Casey Smitley; dad, the late Dale Eric Shepherd; and father and stepmom, Craig and Dale Worstall. He worked as a tattoo artist at Envy Skin Gallery in Columbus, Ohio for 10 years, with over 22 years of experience as a tattoo artist. He liked to paint, and as an artist he worked in numerous mediums from glass work to etchings. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed drinking Guiness and playing Texas Hold'em. He loved his family and was incredibly social. Curt was independent and fiercely loyal to those he loved. He will be remembered fondly by countless friends and family for his sense of humor, his laugh, his amazing hugs, his uncanny ability to do coverup tattoos and portraits, and all his wonderful stories. He was a true artist and his art will outlive us all.
Curtis is survived by his daughter, Opheilia, who he adored, his mom, his father, his siblings Eva "Nicki" (Scott) Wesson, Shawna Dayle (David) Clark, William "Rusty" Cottrell, Gage Smitley, Charlotte (Andrew) Colley, Bradley Worstall, Ryan (Emily) Worstall, Joshua (Shayla) Worstall, and his grandmother Wanda Worstall as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Curtis is preceded in death by his dad, Dale Shepherd, and his grandparents Bruce and Joylee Kinkade, Donald and Lois Shepherd, and Richard Worstall.
A cremation has taken place, and the family plans to hold a private gathering. A celebration of life will be scheduled in both Columbus, OH and Vero Beach, FL at a later date.
