Obituary
Charles W. “Chaz” Marple Jr. 58 of Philo, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023 with his loving family by his side.
Charles was born in Zanesville on October 27, 1964. He retired after years working for Mitchell Systems in Newark in the maintenance department. He was an avid outdoorsman! He loved hunting, fishing, metal detecting and spending time outside tinkering.
Charles is survived by ‘his everything’ Monty Smythe; his two sons, Charles (Darcy) Oiler and Joe Bernard Marple; his granddaughter, Aliegha Marple; his two grandsons, Brayden and Marcus; his siblings, Anthony (Haley) Wise, Angela Wreede, Richard (Anita) Pride and Sharon (Russ Longfellow) Silvus and “his nurse” Sue Swiney.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Sr. and Clara E. (Pride) Marple.
A gathering of friends will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A memorial service will follow visitations at 6:30 pm. Pastor Joe Rowland will officiate the service. A social gathering for his family and friends will follow the memorial at a location to be announced.
