Charles Frederick Grieves, 82 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2021 while at his home surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Hospice of Guernsey County.
Charles was born on April 2, 1939 in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Ira L. and Mildred L. (Derwacter) Grieves. He owned and operated Grieves Bulldozing for several years, and worked as a construction superintendent for RF Scurlock. He was an avid woodworker, and he served his country in the US Air Force.
Charles is survived by son, Brett (Wendy) Grieves of Cambridge; his daughter, Getchen (Clay) Price of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Kayla Grieves, Tabitha (Troy) Kutscherenko, and Brian Grieves; his great-grandchildren, Kyler, Brady, and Hailey; and his sister, Sara Best of Bellefontaine; several nieces and nephews; and his K9 companions, Bernard and Tuff.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann (Fletcher) Grieves, who passed away December 21, 2004; his son, Brian Daniel Grieves; his grandson, Cole Grieves; and his brother, Bob Grieves.
A graveside service will be held in Zion Cemetery in Claysville, at 11am on Friday, May 21, 2021, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. He will by laid to rest next to his wife in Zion Cemetery, with full Military Honors by the Guernsey County Veterans Counsel and the United States Air Force Color Guard.
