Beulah L. Carpenter, 97 of Duncan Falls, went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2022 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by her loving family. Beulah was fortunate to live at home until two days ago.
Beulah was born on March 31, 1925 in Zanesville. She is the daughter of the late J. Curtis and Florence (Gillogly) Harper.
She was a former member of the Rural Dale United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. After moving to Duncan Falls, she joined the Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School for quite some time. She was a Deaconess Emeritus, sang in the choir, and served on the hospitality committee for many years. She was a member of the Senior Club #1, a member of the twin city card club, enjoyed going to the senior center in Duncan Falls, liked to go on bus tours, loved being with family on holidays, and crocheting.
Surviving is one son, Jim (Cindy) Carpenter of Hopewell, and one daughter, Kathy Hatfield of Duncan Falls; six grandchildren, Matt (Andrea) Carpenter, Mike (Lisa) Carpenter, Marc (Chanda) Carpenter, Brent (Colette) Carpenter, Jenny (Jason) Focht, and Josh (Jenna) Hatfield; great grandchildren, Luke, Ali, Ben, Dylan, Nash, Knox, Grant, Raegyn, Nick, Parker, Noah, and Timmy; one sister, Katherine Harper of Zanesville; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, Beulah is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Charles Carpenter, whom she married April 27, 1947 and passed away July 19, 1996; an infant daughter, Judith Ann Carpenter; her son David Carpenter, who was born February 2, 1950 and passed away February 16, 2010; and her sister, Marie Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund at the Duncan Falls Baptist Church, 240 Mill Street, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday. Pastor Gerry Wade will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
