Barry W. McElfresh, 74 of Duncan Falls passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.
Barry was born on December 3, 1947 in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Harry and Jeanette (Kennison) McElfresh.
Barry retired as a supervisor for the Conesville Ohio Power Plant after 45 years. He attended the Northside Church of the Nazarene in Zanesville; he was president of the Humane Society in Zanesville, a member of the Muskingum County Democrat Society, as well as Ohio Gun Collectors Club. He served as a Wayne Township Democratic Central Committeeman and he also served on the Wayne Township Fire Department for 35 years. He was an avid Alabama Football fan, and he enjoyed golfing, hunting and gardening.
Barry is survived by his wife, Wilma Carol (Apperson) McElfresh, whom he married May 2, 1967; his two daughters, Lisa (Sam) Ray and Heather (Scott) Strickland both of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Tova (Jacob) Brunk, Ryder Mullins, Lydia Mayle, Demetrius and Malachi Strickland; and his sister, Linda Sue (Jeff) McCarty.
Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 1 pm. Dr. James Miller will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
