Arthur E. Conn, 81, of Kimbolton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Arthur was born in Canton, Ohio on October 9, 1940. He is the son of the late Arthur Conn and Ruth (Hess) Furney. He is preceded in death by his foster parents Josephine and Charles McCauley, two brothers, William Conn and Thomas Conn and his two sisters, Patricia Bradford and Saundra Mossman.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Bagueros) Conn; his three children, Arthur Conn II, Alex Conn, and Andrea (Philip) Severyn, his step-children Pamela Amato, Gina Amato, and Louie (Alicia) Amato; his grandchildren Matthew Amato, Mia Rose Amato, and Connor Severyn; and his twin brother Artemis “Butch” (Donna) Conn.
Arthur served his country in the US Army, serving with the 182 Airborne division as a Military Police. Arthur worked at United Foundries for over 30 years, retiring in 2002. Arthur was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also an adventure seeker, accumulating over 4,000 skydiving jumps with Canton Air Sports. He was most proud of his children, step-children, and grandchildren.
Arthur’s family would like to thank the staff at Southeastern Medical ICU, Astoria Place, and Hospice of Guernsey County for all the care provided to Arthur during his last moments.
In keeping with his wishes, a caring cremation has taken place and a celebration of life ceremony will take place from 12:00 to 4:00 PM on October 9, 2022 at the MAPS Air Museum in North Canton, Ohio. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Conn family.
