William Whipple

Cambridge - William F. Whipple passed away peacefully in the loving presence of his family on Saturday, May 10th while in the care of the Morrison House in Zanesville. He was born May 21st, 1949 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada to William R. and Catherine Whipple. William worked as a plant manager for Champion Spark Plug, and later became the Director of Business and Industry Training at the Zane State College. He was also a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cambridge, and was the Acting Dean of the Muskingum Area Technical College, currently known as the Zane State College Cambridge Campus. He also enjoyed playing Keno. William was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who cherished his family, and especially his time with his grandchildren. William is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sherry Whipple. He also leaves, to cherish his memory, his daughter Brandi Fleckenstein and her husband Chip, and his son, Jason Whipple, and his wife, Sara, and was a loving Gramps to their children, Owen, Austin, Gavin, and Eli. He will be deeply missed by his Mother and Father-in-Laws, James and Gloria Dickinson, his Sister-in-Law, Cindy Dickinson, and her husband, Ken Alischer, as well as a host of family, friends, and co-workers. The family would like to thank the staff of the Morrison House, whose care, concern, and attention are deeply appreciated. They would also like to thank the personnel of Primecare of Southeastern Ohio for their support and understanding during their difficult times. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that friends and family make a donation to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701 or a charity of their choice. A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, formerly the Mock Miller Funeral Home.
