William Waltz

New Concord William Preston Waltz, of New Concord, born April 4th, 1933 passed from this world July 10th, 20104 at the Beckett House. He married Donna J. Stanley on August 7th, 1954. He attended New Concord High School, and was a full back on the football team. He worked for W.S. Hinerman Drilling. He was drafted into the Army twice. He was stationed in Frankfort, Germany, and was a Sergeant Specialist in demolitions. He worked at Champion Sparkplug for 30 years before retiring, and served as a Deacon at the New Concord Church of Christ. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Waltz, and his brother, Carl Waltz. William leaves his wife Donna, two daughters, Donna J. Band, and Tena M.(Jeff) Potts; two grandchildren, Qovona Potts-Devirgilio (Daniel), and Cole Potts. He also leaves his siblings Marie Keyes, Gerald Waltz, Patricia Edwards, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends, his Church of Christ Family, and many others who adopted him as a Dad and Grandpa. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, August 2nd at 11AM at the New Concord Church of Christ. Donations to the New Concord Church of Christ may be made in Bill's name in lieu of flowers, and is appreciated by the family. Services are arranged by the Farus Funeral Home.
