William "Bill" O. Ault

William “Bill” O. Ault, 81, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Ross County, Ohio, the son of Willard Ault and Sarah (Young) Ault. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ruth and Orville. Bill retired from the Central Ohio Coal Company after working as a coal miner for over thirty years and was a dedicated member of the United Mine Workers of America. In addition to his mining career, he was a lifelong area farmer and the owner and operator of Ault Farm Equipment in Chandlersville. Bill was a graduate of the Chandlersville High School Class of 1961, the last class to graduate from Chandlersville School. Bill cherished his community deeply and was a Salt Creek Township Trustee for many years. Bill was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose memories will forever be cherished by the ones he leaves behind.

Bill is survived by his wife of sixty years, Clara “Sue” (Hardy) Ault, whom he married on May 9, 1964; his five children, Vicki (Kevin) Bailey, Andy (Susan) Ault, Jim (Maggi) Ault, Mike (Dessie) Ault, and Melissa Tom; his grandchildren, Kayla (Bill) Lane, Kyle (Krista) Ault, Joel (Ashlee) Ault, Donnie (Jen) Ault, Levi Ault, Laken Ault, Marissa (Mark) Wills, Olivia Ault, Miley Ault, Taylor Ault, Kelsey (Briar Hannahs) Ault, Matt (Lydia) Tom, and J.D. Tom; his step-grandchildren, Dalton (Claire) Bailey, Kris (Brittney) Bailey; his twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way; his three step-great-grandchildren his brother and sister, Keith and Gwen; as well as a community of wonderful friends.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his son-in-law, B.J. Tom; as well as his siblings, Harold, John, Larry, Susie, and an infant.

Visitations will be from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be held from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Funeral services will follow at 11 am on Wednesday. Pastor Jamie Harrop will officiate the service. Bill will be laid to rest in the Chandlersville Cemetery.
