William "Bill" H. Burckholter

William Burckholter, 83, of Philo, OH, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Amber Park Senior Living in Pickerington.

William was born in Zanesville, OH, to Raymond and Clara Burckholter. He is survived by his son Douglas Burckholter, daughter Holly Burckholter, and daughter Susan (Gary) Glaze; granddaughter Maresa (Parker) Sherman, grandson Galen (Shanelle) Glaze, great-grandson Aedyn Sherman, and one great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Gloria Burckholter and Mary Lois Burckholter, as well as adopted son Greg (Jessica) Barwell and adopted grandchildren Annabelle and Alexander. Along the way William adopted many others as his grandchildren.

William is predeceased by Sandra, his beloved wife of 56 years; brothers Walter and Charles, sisters Patricia and Barbara.

William worked for 19 years at Ohio Ferro Alloys, and since 1983 he was in the petroleum and electronics industries. He was a member of the South Zanesville congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

His family wishes to thank all his friends and adopted family who helped care for him, sent cards and called, and those who visited him. We especially wish to thank Trudy Fischer and the wonderful, caring staff at Amber Park Senior Living in Pickerington.

In keeping with his wishes, a caring cremation will take place. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial reception on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 6 pm to 9 pm at Pike 22, 2924 Maysville Pike, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
