Wendell L. Adams

June 29, 1934 — May 11, 2024

New Concord

Wendell L. Adams, 89, of LaFollette, TN. and formerly of Columbus, OH., born June 29, 1934 in Coshocton County Ohio. Wendell joined Jesus and other loved ones in Heaven on May 11, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Isabelle Adams, his four siblings, Gene Adams, George Adams, Lorna Griffith and Jim Adams and very sadly preceded in death by his sons Kim Asher, Mike Adams, Doug Adams and stepson Max Van Fossen, and his grandson Mike Adams II and great granddaughter Myah Knecht. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Black Adams of Zanesville Ohio and daughter Becky Cooney (Greg) of Jacksboro TN, granddaughters Lisa Duke, Laura Rikard, Angie Ault, Angie Adams, Stephanie Adams, Sarah Bowen, Mary Knecht, Jennifer Noel, grandsons Chris Cooney, Chris Lindsey, Jeremy Lindsey, Jestin Van Fossen, Brian Asher, Mike Asher and Chris Asher, daughter-in -laws Betty Adams & Tami Asher, step daughters Jan Van Fossen and Sue Van Fossen. Wendell has several nieces and nephews along with many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Most of Wendell’s working life was as a truck driver with many years of accident-free driving. Attending Westwood Baptist Church for many years with his wife Dorothy brought them many lifelong friendships and adventures. Wendell enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, gardening, weird roasts, and camping and was a cut-throat Euchre player. He was a good car mechanic and could tackle most any home improvement project or repair and he was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. His grandchildren have fond memories of tractor and mower rides and various other outdoor activities including Easter Egg hunts. He took great effort to attend activities of the grandchildren and attending Adams and Chaney reunions. Wendell knew the Ohio roads like the back of his hand. You could count on him to help with most any project family or friends could come up with. He will be greatly missed by many.
