Waveline “Wava” Coleman, 91 of Philo, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on October 13, 2021 at the Morrison House and under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Wava was born on September 27, 1930 in Taylorsville.  She is the daughter of the late Oscar and Rose (Buck) Samson.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family.  She worked for Essex wire and she faithfully attended the Cornerstone South Church of McConnelsville.

Wava is survived by her five children, Roxanne (Paul) Roush, Caroline Gottke, Carlotta (Eric) Dickson, Carl (Connie) Coleman, and Oscar (Amber) Coleman; her grandchildren, Sherry (Larry) Hatcher, Ron Gottke, Michael (Amber) Dickson, Matthew (Jess) Dickson, Carrie (Louis) Wisecarver, Terry (Brittany) Gottke, Carson (Cody) Chapman, Misty Jones, Mindy Coleman, David (Brandy) Coleman, Paul (April) Roush, Carrie Pharoah, Collene (Robert) Collier, Amber Userry, Kendal (Primo) D’Alessandro, Cody (Brittany) Basehart and Angela Cramer; 39 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Katherine Parrill.

In addition to her parents, Wava is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carl E. Coleman, who passed away on December 7, 2018; her infant son, Billy; her son-in-law Ron Gottke who passed away in 2021; and her five brothers and six sisters.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Morrison House for their kindness and loving care.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Genesis Hospice Morrison House, 751 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH, or the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate .

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 18,2021, at 1 pm, at the Blue Rock Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Steve Smith will officiate the service.  Wava will be laid to rest next to her husband. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Coleman family.
