Wava R. Hochstetler, 92 of Dresden and formerly of Duncan Falls, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Wava was born on February 2, 1932 in Blue Rock, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Lawrence H. Price and Erma L. (Swingle) Price Eppley.
Wava was a graduate of Philo High School and continued her academic journey at Meridith Business College. She worked in the composing room for the Times Recorder for over fifteen years and then for the Longaberger Corporation for five years before retiring.
She was a life-long member of the Gaysport United Methodist Church. Wava enjoyed working at their annual oyster soup supper and was active in the church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower gardens, and driving VW Beetles. Wava was a devoted mother and wife and loved her Boston Terriers.
Wava is survived by her husband of 54 years, Blaine Hochstetler, of Duncan Falls, whom she married March 14, 1970; her daughter, Lori Hochstetler of Dresden; her sister-in-law, Colleen Price of Frankfort, Indiana; her two nieces and two nephews; as well as her church family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Wava is preceded in death by her two brothers, Ralph Price and Warren Price.

Visitations will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be held the next day at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Lisa Jenkins and Pastor Bill Abrams will officiate the service. Wava will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
