Walter E. Shannon

Walter E. Shannon, 71 of New Concord, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Genesis Hospital with his loving wife by his side.

Walter was born on December 5, 1952 in Norco, California. He is the son of the late John Walter and Christine (Bishard) Shannon.

Walter worked as an orderly at Riverside Community Hospital in California, and then as a nurse’s aide at Countryview Assisted Living in Lore City.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife of forty-two years, Pamela S. (Kiggans) Shannon, whom he married on May 30, 1981; his children, April (John), William (Karla), Kimberly, and Thomas (Jamie); his grandchildren, Adriana, Tony (Cynthia), Tyler, Hayden, Noah, Katelyn, Mckayla; his great-grandchildren, Elias, Liam, and one expected great-grandson, Ezra; his siblings, Nancy, Marilyn, Marie, Sue, and Tammy; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Walter’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Shannon family.
