Virginia Lee Collins passed away on Wednesday, October 21st while in the care of the Morrison House in Zanesville; she was 90 years old. Virginia was born in Cumberland, Ohio November 23rd, 1924 the daughter of Frank and Hazel Shuster. She was a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in education. She was a second and third grade teacher at Cumberland and Brook Elementary Schools, retiring from the Rolling Hills Local School District. She was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church of Cumberland, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, the Cumberland Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Rolling Hills Retired Teacher Organization. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Hazel Shuster, sister, Berdelle Bay, her husband, Harry Robert Collins, and son -in-law, Douglas Hall. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Lee Hall and Janet Sue (Duane) Fulk, her beloved grandchildren, Crystal (Scott )Tubbs, Megan (Kevin) Mowder, Heather (Sean) Ebert, and Bryan Fulk, and her great-grandchildren, Autumn, Luke, and Grant Tubbs, Kamryn and Amber Mowder, and Justin and Jacob Ebert. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Catherine Naylor, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Saturday, October 24th, from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM. Funeral services will be held the following day, Sunday the 25th, at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Cumberland, at 2PM with calling hours 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Cumberland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that Memorial contributions may be made to the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in care of Darla Craig.
