Virgil D. Mitchell
July 5, 1927 — August 11, 2016
Virgil D. Mitchell, 89 of Blue Rock passed away peacefully on August 11, 2016 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. Virgil was born in Meigs Township on July 5, 1927. He is the son of the late Otis and Gladys (Wion) Mitchell. He was an area lifetime farmer and he was a member of the Blue Rock Baptist Church. He was a 20 year township trustee for Meigs Township
Virgil is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Loretta (John) Kennedy of Blue Rock and his granddaughters Sarah and Brittany Kennedy; he is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Beardsley of Norwich, Bula Dickson of Blue Rock, Edna Allen of Philo and Mary Ruth Hughes of Marietta and many nieces and nephews.
Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma B. Mitchell who passed away September 5, 1999; a granddaughter Ashley Kennedy; his brothers Ralph, Kenneth, Herman and Robert Mitchell and his sisters Donna Weaver and Edith Cunningham.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday at the Ark Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Ark Spring Cemetery.
