Therese M. Hollingshead

Therese Marie Hollingshead, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Altercare of Zanesville. She was born on February 24, 1937 in Chicago to the late Ernest Thomas Bever and Adeline E. (Walsh) Bever.  She was a resident of New Concord for over 40 years.

Therese worked as a land development secretary for various gas and oil companies, with J.L. Coats Oil and Gas being the last one she worked for. She was also a substitute teacher for John Glenn Schools, and retired from East Muskingum School District where she worked many years as a teachers aide for special needs students.  Caring and teaching her students gave her great pride and was one of the highlights of her life.  She also loved the time spent with family and friends sailing on Seneca Lake.

Therese is survived by her children, Mark Robert (Ronni) Hollingshead, Jacquelyn Marie Hollingshead, Ernest Ralph (Ronda) Hollingshead, Michael Thomas Hollingshead, Karl Dean Hollingshead, and Cynthia Ann (Joe) Neff; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Therese was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lewis Hollingshead, and her sister, Rosemary McManus Redman.

Visitations will be held 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. Funeral services will be held following visitations at 1 pm with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
