Steven R. Helphrey

Steven R. Helphrey, 71 of Philo, passed away on July 5, 2021, at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room.

Steve was born in Zanesville on June 22, 1950. He is the son of the late William D. and Evelyn I. (Kirkbride) Helphrey.  He enjoyed camping and fishing; he worked as a self-employed truck driver for many years and he proudly served his country in the United States Navy in Vietnam.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Sheron L. (Daniels) Helphrey, whom he married on February 21, 1997; his children, Michael Daniels of Zanesville, Anthony Helphrey of Zanesville, and Allison Helphrey of Cincinnati; several grandchildren; and his brothers, Rick (Norma) Cummings, Craig (Lucy) Cummings, Shawn (Patty) Gibson, and Bobby (Amy) Gibson.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his sister, Kim Gates.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwoood Cemetery in Zanesville, at 10:00 am on Monday, July 12, 2021. Steve will be laid to rest with full military honors from George Selsam VFW Post #1085, Zanesville American Legion Post #29, and The United States Navy Color Guard. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Helphrey Family.
