Stanley H. Richards, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7th while in the loving presence of his family.  He was born in Ashland, Ohio to Victor and Ruth (Baker) Richards on March 9th, 1929.  Stanley proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean conflict.  He was a member of the Mason’s, the Lions Club, the JOY Sunday School Class; he volunteered at the John & Annie Glenn Historic Site as well as the Wilds, and was a faithful member of the New Concord United Methodist Church.  Stanley was a devoted and loving husband, and was an amazing father who cherished his time with his family.  Stanley did not have idle hands, he was always working on a project of some sort, and keeping himself busy.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spent a great deal of time traveling, camping, canoeing, hiking, and white water rafting.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, whom he married October 9, 1955, and his brother-in-law, Clyde W. Thompson. He is survived by his children, Kimberly K. (Eric) Esteran of Georgetown, IN, Eric T. Richards and (Deborah Spadafore) of Bridgeport, WV and Mark S. (Julie) Richards of Norwich; his grandchildren, Jordan Richards, Mackenzie Richards and Sydney Richards; his step-grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Goff, Jessica (Jason) Power; his two great-grandchildren, Jade and Jagger Goff; his brother, Donald E. (Mic) Richards, of Waynesville, Ohio, and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Tom (Judith) Thompson of Mount Liberty, OH.

Friends and family may attend calling hours for Stanley at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Friday the 11th from 4 to 8PM, services will follow on Saturday the 12th at the New Concord United Methodist Church, 20 E High St, New Concord with an additional calling hour from 10AM to 11:15AM, services will start sharply at 11:30 with Rev. Karen Graham officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date.
