Sandra "Sandy" S. Hanes

Sandra “Sandy” S. Hanes, 69 of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at the Highland Oaks with her loving family by her side.

Sandy was born on February 26, 1955, in Joy, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Sheldon and Juanita (Hogsett) Vincent. Sandy's life centered around her family. She found immense fulfillment in nurturing her loved ones, ensuring they were always cared for and supported. Her home was always a sanctuary of love and comfort. Sandy’s other favorite hobby was to read.

Sandy is survived by her two sons, David (Bobbie) Holmes and Sheldon Holmes; her step-children, Shelly (Mike) Wood, William Hanes and Frankie Hanes; her grandchildren, Alexander Holmes, Owen (Emily) Holmes, Sheldon Junior Holmes, Chris Wood, Eric Wood, Tristan Corbett Jr., and Knelee Scott; great grandchildren, Aiden Holmes, Harper Cotrell, Aliviah Wood, Michael Wood and Penelope Wood; her sister, Goldie (Bill) Herbst; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry F. Hanes, whom she married on April 25, 1980, and who passed away on March 27, 2011; her siblings, David, Daniel, Michael, Dorothy, and Rosemary Vincent.

Visitations for Sandy will be held from 11 to 1 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Reverend Darren Tolbert officiating the service. Sandy will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
