Ruth Elizabeth Kennel

Ruth E. Kennel, 102 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born in Elmira, WV on August 26, 1920.  She is the daughter of Robert F. and Addie Arissa (Wright) Barr.  She and her husband owned and operated Kennel One Stop Service Station in Gaysport.  She was an avid reader, card player and loved her jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ.

Ruth is survived by her children, Sandra Rosenberger, Ginger Williams, Pamela White, Sara (Ed) Bowers, Sally Woodruff and Rebecca (Tim) Woodward; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as one expected; a brother, Robert “Bobby” (Florence) Barr; sister Mary Myer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “Bub” Kennel, who passed away September 9, 2005; her daughter, Trenda Ribble; five sons in law, Buck Rosenberger, Harold Dean Williams, Richard White, Clayton “Woody” Woodruff , and John Ribble; grandsons, Brent Williams, Phillip Williams, Mark White, and Keith Bowers; seven sisters and one brother.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, April, 16, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Funeral services will be 4 pm Sunday.  Pastor Bill Meige will officiate the service.  Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
