Ruth E. Ferguson

Ruth E. Ferguson, 72 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born on April 10, 1952, in Cambridge, to the late Howard C. and Wanda J. (Harper) Callahan. Ruth worked for the Guernsey Muskingum Electric Cooperative before retiring after forty years. She was a member of the New Concord United Methodist Church. Ruth was an avid reader, and she loved to run and garden. She loved to be surrounded by children, her family was her entire world.

Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of forty-six years, Gary A. Ferguson, whom she married on February 10, 1978; her two sons, Ryan A. (Tara) Ferguson and Brett J. Ferguson; her grandchildren, Grace Catherine, Callie Ann, and Theo Allen; her siblings, Timothy (Bonnie) Callahan and Linda (Steven) Cowgill; as well as her several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Wally and Mary Lou Ferguson; as well as her brother-in-law, Jim Ferguson.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, private family services were held, and a caring cremation will take place. Ruth will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
